Meet the Maker
Onyx Containers came about shortly after the founders had a daughter, and like most new parents, they became more aware of the health compromises present in eating and storing food. They wanted an alternative to plastic that was more durable than glass, and landed on stainless steel as the best option. They believe in safe and environmentally responsible products that don't break the bank, and they use all of their own products themselves -- a testament to the quality of each piece.View Full Profile

Super useful, hearty ice cubes! Love.
Used at my family home, then purchased again for my own place because of how great this product is. I love the size and shape of the ice cubes—restaurant-worthy! PRO-TIP: let the tray thaw for 2 minutes on the counter, or run under hot water before pulling the handle.

DO NOT BUY!! Does not work at all.
I wanted to love this so much but it DOES NOT WORK. Here's the review from Gizmodo that I wish I would have seen before buying. Bottomline: save your money. DO NOT BUY THIS! "A large lever is meant to literally pry your cubes out. And it does. Sort of. Unfortunately, owing precisely to the fact that it's made out of steel, the ice sticks inextricably to the thing itself, meaning that a tremendous amount of effort is required to get those cubes the hell out of there, and when they do, they fly out en masse. Straining desperately, like a submarine captain struggling to flip some crucial control, isn't conducive to outdoor booze fun. Especially when you get a face full of ice."

Nostalgic work of art😊
I like my summer beverages super cold. I make my famous lemonades super sweet and super tart just so when I add ice my drink waters down perfectly. My love for icy drinks started around the time my family had ice cube trays just like this in the 60’s. I remember that our tap water tasted great back then and I’d run water over the tray to loosen the ice before that *crack and out popped out the perfectly formed cubes. I wouldn’t dare drink Philly tap water now so I just let the tray filled with frozen spring water sit on the counter for few moments. I’ll hear a little sound as the ice melts a bit and voila, the cubes are lose enough to crack the ice cubes into my waiting freezer bin. The tray is sturdy stainless steel, weighty and well constructed. Seriously, this jawn is almost identical to the trays that my family had in the 60’s! Well done 👍🏾
