Baker’s choice.

Bakers near and far—whoa, that’s a lot of you—will be pleased to meet this set. It’s turning up the flavor dial big-time, since it includes best-in-class versions of the spices you’ll find in holiday cookies, cakes, and even savory dishes like biryani. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Everything here comes from small, family-run farms in Sri Lanka and India, where partners earn an average of six times more for their work compared to other farmers. That means it’s all single-origin, sustainably grown, and sourced using direct-trade practices. Doesn’t get sweeter than that.

This set comes with six jarred spices, plus one 10-gram bag of vanilla (that’s three beans).

  • Made in: various smallholder farms throughout India and Sri Lanka. The growing region of each spice is listed on the jar.
  • Product Warranty:
  • Shipping & Returns: Free Standard Shipping on Orders $199+ and Easy-Breezy Returns

Meet the Maker

Diaspora Co.

Oakland, CA
Sana Javeri Kadri was born and raised in Mumbai, India, giving her a firsthand look at the global spice trade. After seeing farmers make very little money and spices changing hands as many as ten times before making it to store shelves, she resolved to do something different. Diaspora Co. was born, and now they’re partnering with farmers to create a radically new spice trade—living wages and wow-worthy flavors included.
