This special dish.

Our favorite ingredient (butter!) deserves a pedestal to serve it on—and luckily this dish is fit for the occasion. It was handmade just for us by artist Dubhe Carreño of This Quiet Dust ceramics studio. Lift the top by its handle, and you’ll find a pretty blue glaze waiting on the plate underneath. Only the best for our baguettes and toast, we say.

This butter dish is part of a limited handmade batch from some of our favorite ceramicists. Shop the full collection here.

Meet the Maker

This Quiet Dust

Lake Forest, IL
Dubhe Carreño, originally from Caracas, Venezuela, moved to the States when she was 18 to pursue a career in dance. She enrolled in a pottery class to relieve stress, and—wouldn’t you know it?—now she’s teaching ceramics at Northeastern University and running a studio of her own. The name “This Quiet Dust” comes from an Emily Dickinson poem about the fleeting yet transformative nature of the human condition (much like the clay Dubhe works with).
