Pattern play.

We’re positive this dish will get passed around the table, even when it doesn’t have butter in it. (Seriously, we could eye up that pattern for days.) It gets its whimsy from Recreation Center, a small Brooklyn-based ceramics studio run by artist Josephine Heilpern. Pull it out when dinner rolls are on the menu, then leave it on the table between bites—this one deserves to be on display at all times.

This butter dish is part of a limited handmade batch from some of our favorite ceramicists. Shop the full collection here.

Prettily patterned, hand-thrown tableware, right this way. Artist Josephine Heilpern started Recreation Center in Brooklyn back in 2012 and has been making magic ever since. Rumor has it she makes lava lamps too, and after seeing her fanciful style, we’re not the least bit surprised.
