Ever since Jacobsen Salt Co. set about harvesting the first great American salt (straight from Oregon's cold waters using traditional methods), they've been daydreaming about crafting a caramel to highlight it.
Their flake salt has a bright flavor and a delicate crunch, making it the ultimate pairing with this rich, buttery caramel. They keep things simple: slowly toasting sugar with local butter until it’s melted and golden before stirring in heavy cream and generous amounts of flaky sea salt.
The result is a perfectly burnished caramel, both soft and toothsome, with sparks of salt throughout. Happy snacking!
