Sunflower Seed Earrings

Inspired by an actual sunflower seed shell from the designer Janet Mavec’s flower garden, these hanging earrings celebrate the beauty of an intriguing tiny shape that’s usually overlooked and discarded. By casting a single shell in brass, coating it with a matte antique gold finish, and securing it to the end of a short chain, Mavec created a just-dangly-enough set of earrings that’s perfect as a gift for the gardener in your life—or anyone who loves a touch of polish.

Meet the Maker
All the inspiration for this jewelry line comes from Orchard's farm in New Jersey, Bird Haven Farm. Everything from the doves that eat from their bird feeder to the apples from their orchard go into their designs for earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Vegetables, in their opinion, are totally under-appreciated in the design world and we are happy to see them represented.View Full Profile
