Just like in any good old fashioned, it takes the brightness of fresh orange and blends it with bitterness—but this mix also adds the deep sweetness of molasses and a zip of fresh ginger, which makes it a perfectly festive drink for the holidays (and, if you ask us, for the rest of the year). All you have to add is a slip of orange peel and a bit of booze; we recommend aged rum.
