Lovely product (but*)
This is a beautiful item to be sure. I love how light it is and the color. I do wish, however, that there was some sort of position where the colander part could sit slightly raised in the bowl. I often find wanting to tilt it so that it can drain and not being able to, which is quite frustrating. That would be my only design ask.
Great Tool!
I really like this set. I initially purchased because I don't like to drain pasta in a colander in the sink for several reasons. Also, my daughter has a hard time draining a heavy pot of hot water and pasta. We pour out as much water as we can with out having to tip the pot too much, and then we pour the pasta and remaining water into this colander and bowl while it sits on the counter. The hot water does heat up the bowl, but our counters can handle it. Putting a silicone trivet underneath is a good idea, though. I made Ella Quintner's giant latke recipe here and, boy, was this thing handy for squeezing the water out of the shredded potatoes. I lifted out the colander, poured the liquid out of the bowl and then used the bowl to mix it all up. Also, it's lightweight, which I appreciate not just for my aching back but also because the only place I can store it is up high in a cupboard. It's lightweight means I can easily get it down without a mishap and it's safer since I live in earthquake country. Probably no one thinks about that, but I like to carefully consider what I'm storing up there.
Perfect for Fruit & Mixing Bowl
The small is a great size for washing berries, grapes, etc. I also use this as a mixing bowl for dry ingredients because the "spout" makes it easy to pour everything into my stand mixer!
