We’ve got more than a few reasons we’re taken by these placemats. For starters, they’re all fair-trade, handcrafted by artisans in Northwest India as part of an initiative for displaced communities. They also happen to be made from 100% kora cotton—which, fun fact, is unprocessed and unbleached, giving it that natural texture you see. And then there’s this tidbit: Each one is printed using a process that involves making dozens of impressions with a carved wooden stamp (wow). And we haven’t even gotten to those oh-so-versatile lines...
