Gaining traction.
Would you believe it if we told you this rug is made of PVC plastic? It’s true. Woven on traditional looms in the heart of Sweden, it’s tough as they come, yet soft underfoot. And that’s not all...
- Indoor-outdoor friendly: It’s water resistant and holds its color even when left out in the sun.
- A snap to clean: Give it a quick vacuum, hose it down, or toss it in the washing machine if it fits. It’ll dry flat in under an hour, too.
- No toxins here: Since it’s fashioned from Swedish-made plastic, you can bet it’s free of phthalates and other toxins. It won’t hold onto dust, either—good news for those with allergies.
- Eco-minded: This one’s designed to last a lifetime, and since it’s made in Sweden from start to finish—raw materials to finished product—it’s helping cut down on transport-related carbon emissions.

Meet the Maker
Pappelina
Sweden
When Swedish designer and Pappelina founder Lina Rickardsson began pursuing her passion for weaving, little did she know it would be the start of a booming textile business. After taking courses in Gothenburg, she started working in a small family-owned mill in Dalarna, where she discovered bright plastic ribbons once used to make rugs in the ‘70s. She gave the idea new life with a fresh tying technique, and—fast forward a few years—her plastic rugs are still made with pride in Sweden, and gracing floors the world over.
