Meet the Maker

MADRE

Portland, OR
MADRE gets its name from founders Shay Carrillo and Jeanie Kirk—two women who are deeply stirred by mothering, food, and how nourishing home can support both the human family and the natural world. Their goal is to create linen goods that are grown, processed, woven, and sewn here in the States. (But while the local linen industry gets rebuilt, they’re working with partners in Europe who are as transparent and sustainable as it gets.)
