Mug in the making.
How many people does it take to craft a mug from start to finish? At least 15, in this case. This sipper you see was handmade exclusively for us by the artists at South Africa–based Wonki Ware pottery studio. It was molded and shaped from locally sourced clay, left to dry in the sun along its journey, then kiln-fired, painted, and topped off with a velvety glaze and kiln-fired again to make that lined design pop. (Yeah, it’s a process.) There’s three colors here, each one ready to mix and mingle in the mug cabinet.
