We're all about collections over at Provisions -- and we don't want you to miss out on the fun.
Today: Grilling season is approaching, so of course we’re spending all our time thinking about burgers.
Choosing the perfect burger is somewhat like choosing a perfect PB&J. Both are simple and composed of just a few components, but everyone has a fierce allegiance to what they like. They evoke a lot of nostalgia -- maybe you’re partial to the squishy sesame buns you always had growing up, or you always top yours with bacon and Swiss cheese.
More: 6 tips for building a better burger.
Our approach to burgers (and life) is this: You do you. Take the basics of bun, patty, toppings, and condiments, and tailor it all to your tastes. Then go beyond the basics: try an unexpected topping -- we discovered pickled leeks and green garlic and we're not going back to plain relish. Or use sherry ketchup in place of classic -- it’ll still be the familiar burger you love, but with a twist.
We like to experiment with getting our hands dirty, so we took a stab at slicing and frying our own French fries, and grinding our own meat for patties (bonus points for baking homemade buns). We’re sourcing the tools we liked best over on our Provisions shop in our burger collection. Here’s to a better, juicier, saucier burger.
