Simple stew. Brown your beef on all sides and remove from pan. Add a lot of chopped onions and stir for 5 to 10 minutes. Add chunks of carrot and return beef to pan. add a bottle of beer or beef cube or both, to come about 1/2 way up the sides of the meat. Turn heat up untill the liquid simmers, then place a tight lid on and turn heat to low for 2 hours. To thicken, mash 1 Tbsp butter with 1 Tbsp flour, add to pot a bit at a time until you get it thickened a bit.
