added 9 months agoTry entering in pickles in the search box at the upper right-hand corner of the page, and you'll pull up all sorts of recipes to help you make a pickle (or two, or more!).
Depending on the size of whatever you are pickling (cucumbers to make traditional pickles), the time in a pickling solution will differ. The solution is generally made up of vinegar, salt, sugar, and whatever flavorings you want.
I have used some good quick pickle recipes here http://www.food52.com/recipes... and in the Momofuku cookbook. As for canning I recommend 'Canning for New Generation' by Lianna Krissoff, very easy introduction to canning. She pickles almost everything but there are about 5 recipes for cucumber pickles.
