You can also slice off the "cheeks" without peeling the mango. Slice or score the flesh without cutting all the way through the skin, then sort of turn the skin inside out. Your slices or chunks may pop right off, or you can cut them off close to the skin.
It depends on how ripe. Just before overripe use a peeler.
Really ripe to over ripe, cut away the pit and scoop.
