Hi, I was planning on making the Smoked Ham with Pomegranate Molasses this weekend and was wondering if it would work if I bbq'ed it instead of oven

It may work, but you would need to adjust the recipe. Try to turn the sauce into more of a rub, or brush the sauce lightly over the ham.
