Stir fry substitute for chicken broth?

I am making stir fry and the recipe calls for 1/3 cup chicken broth. What can I use to substitute? For health reasons, I cannot get anything from a store.

If this recipe required a quart of chicken stock, one might suggest you make some vegetable or mushroom stock but seeing as how it's only calling for 1/3 cup, just use water instead.
