On a daily basis... zero. Not to say I don't occasionally toss something that is no longer edible. We try to eat everything purchased. We compost skins, pits, bruised spots, etc. Tomatoes in a salad... how big are the tomatoes? How big is the salad? When I have tomatoes in a salad, I like to taste them, so in an individual serving of a tossed salad, I'd say there are at LEAST 6-8 small whole or pieces of a larger tomato.
