This sounds like one of the frozen (dough) croissants from Trader Joes? And, yes, you put them on a cookie sheet (I also use a sheet of baking parchment) and leave them sit at room temp for 9 hours, then bake. Don't go too much past the recommended time period, they will start to deflate if over-risen. I add an egg wash and sprinkle with a little sugar before baking. They are wonderful!
If frozen baked croissants, yes you can warm or toast in oven or toaster oven straight from freezer. If frozen dough croissants, they need to sit overnight at room temp to defrost and proof (rise) before baking.
