Is it ok to slow cook flanken style short ribs?

Competing information online seems to imply that the slow cooked method is too drying for this cut of ribs.

You can cook flanked-style short ribs in the slow cooker. Don't cook it for as long as you would traditional cut short ribs. 2 hours on high max (though I would check tenderness at 1 hour mark).
