In the recipe ingredients list, she uses 2 teaspoons of vanilla in the cake, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla each for the frosting and fondant.

I would add one teaspoon of vanilla to the cake batter for these petit fours. That's the amount one would generally expect to see in a cake recipe with these ingredients.

You could add a bit more vanilla, of course, if you wanted. ;o)
