All I can remember it it was a salad that could pass as a dessert, Very creamy . Cream cheese and or whipped cream in it. It may have had grapes, not sure. I just wish I could remember what was in it.
Last thoughts...I have a recipe for a cream cheese so-called salad with peaches (source - British friend's mom from 1950s or 1960s, when such dishes were also popular in US). Does this come close? If yes, I can post recipe.

Jody - last idea - could it have had pears or another tree fruit that made you think of apples? If not, I give up. Maybe someone else can recognize it.
