I need a fix for my chicken soup

this is the 2nd time I have tried this soup- First time was amazing. It is "The best chicken soup you'll ever eat". The main difference between my normal chicken soup and this 1- is grated ginger, turmeric, rosemary and thyme. I accidentally had the wrong measuring spoon and added too much of all those "extras"- especially ginger and turmeric. I have added a considerable amount of additional water, strained some of the herbs floating on the surface out but it doesnt taste like chicken soup anymore. It tastes like ginger and that earthy turmeric taste and also a bit of that taste that too much rosemary gives off. I added some Knorr chicken boullion as well and nothing. Please Help! its simmering right now. should I remove 1/2 of the liquid instead of merely adding water and then add water and chicken boullion or should I scrap the whole batch? It's a BIG batch BTW.

So depressing, but I’m sure we’ve all been there. I think if you want it to taste more like chicken, you’re going to have to add chicken. Get a whole chicken or a bunch of parts (I like using wings because you get all the collagen to thicken it) and simmer them in the broth. Add some water— just enough to make sure the chicken is covered. Let it simmer for 30-60 minutes. Scrape off any scum that forms on the top. Taste it and gently season it as needed. Don’t add much salt in the beginning because you may need to reduce it some, and the bouillon is salty. Take the parts out— you can add some of the chicken back in if that’s your jam. Good luck!

TY...I already took out 1/2 the liquid and added water and boullion- Only a slight difference. Now I have already roasted pieces of chicken and a few un cooked but I cant put the raw chicken in cause the veggies will disintegrate. Is it worth it to boil the raw chicken separately and add it in after or will the cooked (but not falling off the bone chicken work? what do you think?

Can you fish out the veggies and add in the raw chicken? Or just let them disintegrate and add a few more (carrots, onions) at the end? Cooked chicken may work, but I think you’ll get more chicken-y flavor from chicken that you cook in the soup. You could also take the raw chicken and cook it into a separate broth (just watch the seasoning and add salt later), reduce that, and add it to your soup.
