Urgent! A question about a recipe: Porky's Peas

I have a question about the recipe "Porky's Peas" from aargersi.
Your recipe says that it should take about 30-40 min for the peas to breakdown. Mine have been simmering for an hour. Do I need to puree the peas or is this supposed to be a chunkier split pea recipe?

Hello! Sorry for the delay! My peas break down some but they are definitly still peas, not just a uniform soup. The main thing is that they get nice and soft.
