Really good with shredded dark meat in the sauce so it is more of a stew, and used the flesh of 4 dried ancho and anaheim peppers instead of the ancho powder (and only 1 t chipotle powder for family friendly)plus provided "fixins" like more shredded cheese, chopped lettuce and tomato etc and it was a great festive meal. Thanks!

I am delighted that you enjoyed it! I love the idea of making it family friendly and adding "fixins."

I've had the honor of trying this particular recipe and it is fantastic! Great comfort food with that delicious hit of masa flavor that makes life worth living.

Oh my goodness! I can practically smell this entire lovely concoction simmering. It would be lots of fun to make with children, or for a family gathering - I can picture people gathered around the work table in my kitchen, gabbing, telling stories, filling dumplings and plopping them into the simmering sauce. Thank you!

Thank you! I've only made them alone, but I think they'd be really party-friendly and kid-friendly: the dough is practically indestructible and benefits from handling, and it doesn't matter much if the sizes of the dumplings are uneven, since they don't suffer if they're a little overcooked!
