Author Notes

This week's contest (Your Best Raspberries) prompted me to think about the ways in which my family enjoy raspberries. All sorts of recipes came to mind from the homemade raspberry vinegar used to dress light summer salads to raspberry and elderflower and raspberry and crème de cassis sorbet, rugelach with raspberry jam and walnuts, even daquoise with custard and raspberries. However little adornment is necessary to show raspberries off at their best. What follows is hardly a recipe but it is very good. —olinsloan

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries, opt.
  • Blackberries, opt.
  • Blueberries, opt.
  • Redcurrants, opt.
Directions
  1. Simply dress fresh and preferably just picked raspberries, alone or as the name of this recipe implies, in combination with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and/or redcurrants with lemon juice and a bit of sugar and serve. The better the fruit, the less sugar you will need. If you want to push the boat out add a sprig of fresh mint.
