We think alike! I just baked tons of meringue (leftover from ice cream making)and flavored it with dried ginger (baked on parchment as individual nests for pavlova). I make Eton Mess with some to store in the freezer. Your idea of baking a roll is really an interesting innovation.

Good to know there are other cooks out there with small containers labeled "1 EW", "2 EW" etc. crowding their freezer shelves. - Dried ginger in meringue sounds interesting, that should go well with sorbet. Also, have never tried Eton Mess, good idea.
