Farmers Markets

Just Food Presents: Let Us Eat Local Event

September 16, 2014

Produce

There’s no doubt that one of the best ways to get excited about cooking is to head to your local farmers market: Seeing all of that beautiful produce is inspiring, to say the least. But many people don’t have access to locally-grown food -- which is where Just Food comes in. This non-profit is dedicated to bringing local food to more communities in New York City.

They also know how to throw a good party: The organization is hosting their annual benefit, Let Us Eat Local, tomorrow, September 17th. The event brings together amazing restaurants and purveyors from around the city for a great cause. You can even bid right now on a Provisions package on their online Charity Buzz auction -- a $250 gift card and a set of 2 hand-painted salad bowls. A great cause and a chance for Provisions goodies; what more can you ask for?

I put chocolate chips in 95% of the things I make and am a strong proponent for lunch dessert.
