Glad to hear you're open to dropped dumplings. That's the central European type I'm familiar with.

Are baked dumplings included or do they have to be fried, steamed or boiled?

Hey, y'all, you've gotta start specifying *Asian* dumplings. (smile) I see the word "dumplings" in your email about the contest and I'm picturing Southern chicken and dumplings. One of my grandmothers was Southern and the other one English, and we had the fluffy drop dumplings rather than the flat rolled dumplings. And I make some great ones, if I do say so myself. Not that I don't love Asian dumplings, have even made a few, but I'm not ready for an Asian dumpling contest! Can't wait to try some of the recipes that come in!

Any type of filled dumpling will fit the bill, not just Asian varieties -- but we'd love to see your drop dumplings anyway! We'll consider non-filled dumplings for Editors' Picks.

Yay! An excuse to try and recreate some of the wonderful dumpling creations I had in China a couple of years ago.
