Did someone say snacks? Yes!

Starting next week and through the holiday season only, we’ll be bringing you weekly Food52 Snack Breaks. While this isn’t your traditional post-lunch nosh, we do hope it will give a little lift during the mid-day slump. Our Snack Breaks will be irresistible, one-day-only deals of our favorite Food52 Shop items for the kitchen and home this holiday season. Snack Breaks can take the form of a traditional sale, first dibs on a limited batch, or even a bonus gift! If you've been eyeing that special something that would make a great gift for your loved one (or to spruce up your own mantel!), the limited-time Snack Breaks promotion will be the perfect chance to snatch it up—and much like the edible kind, if you’re late to the table, the snacks will be gone!

If you’re already a Food52 newsletter subscriber, keep an eye out for the first Snack Break to hit your inbox next week on October 27th. Otherwise, be sure to sign up here so you don't miss out. We can guarantee it will be satisfying (and beloved by our founders, Amanda and Merrill!). But don't mull on it too long—we want to make sure you get those snacks while they last.

See what other Food52 readers are saying.

Hello All, we wanted to follow up to let you know that we've reconsidered "Snack Break" based on your feedback, and have renamed this feature "First Dibs Fridays." Thanks for your input -- always appreciated!

Thanks for your thoughts about the name Snack Break -- it was intended to be lighthearted and appealing, but we hear you, and are thinking about whether or not it works. On the other topic of commerce, we want to be very clear: we don't sell products just to make more revenue. We sell kitchen and home goods because we want to be the very best resource for all of your kitchen and home needs, whether it be a great recipe for dinner, an answer to your question about seasoning a pan, or candlesticks for your table.

I must concur with the other posters. I used to rave about Food 52 being the best food/cooking site out there. I barely check in now because the focus is ALWAYS about selling you some grossly overpriced crap. I'll check in from time to time but pretty much over Food 52.

I'm sorry to seem so critical and didn't really mean to. I love this site. It's the best out there as far as foodie info and recipes out there. The retail sales side of it just seems a bit too much sometimes. The things offered are top notch but generally boutique and way overpriced and for quite awhile now it seems these items are the focus of the website. I'm still a loyal visitor but just a bit disappointed in the retail side of it. I realize that you have to generate revenue but the spirit of the site seems to have shifted.
Sorry for saying overpriced crap. I should have said overpriced cool stuff that I wish I could afford.

This is terrible marketing. It doesn't even sound like you're selling food? Also people usually bring their own or have their own snacks, so the metaphor of the snacks being gone falls flat.

Food52 has become less about food and recipes and more about selling...selling...selling. Over it.
