Please allow me to interrupt this wonderful contest to say that the New York State Fair is simply the best place to spend a late summer evening. If you come up to Syracuse for it (and you should: THE butter sculpture, fresh milk, fancy quilts, stuff on a stick, sausage sandwiches and blue ribbons that mean something) by all means let me know. I haven't been in eight years. I cannot wait.

How fun! Just need a little clarification...are you focusing only on "junk food" from the midway concession stand, or blue ribbon competition stuff as well?

Thank God the Mid State Fair just ended here. But then it's Fiesta Days down in Santa Barbara now. Thanks for a theme where I can just put my brain to sleep.

would this be restricted to whatever is available at American fairs only or will you accept offerings from other places as well?

I'm just waiting to see an entry for chocolate covered bacon on a stick like my husband ate at the WI state fair last year!
