The Furniture Brand You’ve Seen Everywhere—Including the Royal Interview

Spoiler: The Chairs are also back in stock!

Pretty much everything that Oprah touches turns to gold, so when she interviewed Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex in March this year, the world (predictably) went wild. And while the fanfare over the royal couple (and even Queen O herself) was to be expected, there was a star of that interview that no one saw coming: The Chairs.

I’ll be the first to admit a mild interest in the royal family, so I tuned into the interview only to find myself frantically searching the internet for the chairs featured during the royal tea party. They were the epitome of California cool—oversized and comfy with light wood, woven wicker details, and a creamy white cushion—and perfect for the backyard hangout zone I was envisioning for my own home.

As it turns out, I wasn’t alone. The chairs sold out almost instantly (no, I didn’t score a pair and I’m still upset about that), and just as quickly, its manufacturer, Christopher Knight Home, became a household name.

If the name Christopher Knight rings a bell, don’t be surprised. The actor played Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch and is now enjoying a second career in furniture and design. Founded in 2012, Christopher Knight Home sells furniture, tabletop decor, accessories, and more, while Christopher Knight Collection stocks bedding. Everything has a California-casual style with a mix of vintage and mid-century modern touches. It feels like something everyone has or that you’ve seen at everyone’s homes—and you may have!

It’s easy to shop pieces on Amazon, Wayfair, and Overstock (all of which have regular sales), but slightly harder to find actual details behind the brand itself; pieces aren’t designed by Knight, though they all bear his name and the actor is reportedly very involved in the leadership and tech side of things. What’s not a mystery, however, is why everyone fell in love with Christopher Knight furniture: the comfy designs feel at home no matter your style, and the reasonable prices make it easy to upgrade just a corner of your space or your whole house.
