Found some at the street vendor on the Upper West Side. They looked nice outside, but were all rotten inside. Going downtown next...

I found some at Safeway too. They are a little hard but they should be fine for the korma I'm testing.

For those of you trying to find persimmons, you can almost always find them at Asian supermarkets, particularly the larger ones. In the DC area (sububurbs) look at H-Mart, Lotte, Great Wall. They're also not uncommon at the smaller markets such as the ones in Little Saigon, Falls Church, VA.

I just checked a large Asian market in my area (Portland, OR), but unfortunately they had none. The ones I found most recently were from Spain! Maybe East Coast has a slightly later season?

I found hachiyas from Spain in Stamford, CT! But they aren't soft and ripe enough yet to use. I'm going to try putting them in the freezer to speed things along.

My husband just bought 4 pretty nice Fuyu persimmons and I would like to taste a recipe, but the sign “test the recipe” doesn’t work. I pressed it several times.

So sorry you're having trouble! Could you tell me which isn't working for you? They seem to be fine on my end.

I can't find persimmons either. I had a great idea I wanted to try for a recipe, but even Whole Foods had no fruits, puree or juice. So I can't do any trying or testing this time.

What a lovely collection of recipes! Sadly, I will have to skip testing this week too, due to unavailability of persimmons at my local markets.

Me too! I will go on a hunt this weekend and hopefully be able to rustle up a few persimmons somewhere ...

An amazing collection of recipes, and I would sorely love to test this week, but don't think I'll be able to find persimmons.
