Weekend French Toast

May 28, 2010

Just in time for the long weekend, watch A&M make Weekend French Toast by fineartdaily!

In classic A&M style, they splash custard everywhere and narrowly avoid grating their fingertips along with the nutmeg (and they hadn't even gotten to the "generous dollop" of rum in the recipe yet!).

A big thanks to filmmaker Elena Parker, who shot and edited both of this week's videos and toted her heavy, fancy camera and sound equipment across town in 90 degree weather to do so. Our hero!

I just made this for breakfast and had to sub in wheat toast for the French bread, but this was *delicious*. Thanks!

So glad to know!

Nicely done, ladies. Looks simple & yummy. Some thick slabs of peppered bacon & French Roast coffee would be a nice compliment, I think.

By the way, I'm not really a chef, but I enjoy pretending that I am from time-to-time.

Thank you, Amanda, Merrill and Elena for making this fab video of my humble recipe. I am thrilled to pieces! Thanks for a wonderful experience! And many well-deserved congrats to Kayb!

Yum! So what weekend should I visit so you gals can make French toast for me?! Beautiful video - love the angles of the shots and the great sound. Also love how tall you both look - must be a combo of the black clothing and the low counter surface. I like Craig's trick with the syrup - really good idea!

The videos always make voting so much more difficult! still they are one of my favorite parts of the Food 52 site (p.s. I love Amanda's dress!)
