A Perfect Pair: Your Best Food Gifts + Provisions

November 22, 2013

How to give the most memorable holiday food gifts this year -- and win $50 Provisions credit toward the cause.

Whoever said "we eat with our eyes" was absolutely, 100% correct. The holidays are the perfect time to give -- and receive -- something delicious. Making it look beautiful is as important as how it tastes. (Do you really want to gift that fantastic pumpkin bread in a zip-top baggie? We thought not.)

Food52er AntoniaJames had the excellent idea of asking our community to combine a Food52 Top Recipe with related Provisions products to create a beautifully-packaged food gift for the holidays. In other words, take a page from the Provisions playbook and curate your own mini-collection gift set.

Here's a very simple example: this pie, served in this pie plate, plus these spices and a tea towel to round things out.

Here's what to do:

Briefly describe your recipe choice (or choices) and the Provisions items you’d incorporate with it as a gift, and send it to [email protected] by 9:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 1. We'll choose 5 of our favorite pairings and announce them later that week.

All 5 winners will get a $50 Provisions credit, plus $35 toward a professional, custom-printed packaging design (e.g. handsome gift tags or labels) -- a gift from Makr, a new app we are very excited about.

The Makr app lets users create custom gift packaging, invitations, menu cards, tags, and more, which can be printed at home, by Makr, or shared digitally. Use the code FOOD5210 and receive a 10% off a professional print order, valid until the end of the year (11:59 p.m. ET on 12/31/13).

Good luck, and thanks for sharing your inspiration!
