I have a question about the recipe "A Medley of Roasted Potatoes with Homemade Za'atar & Aleppo Pepper" from onetribegourmet.
What is Aleppo pepper?
Sarah is a trusted source on General Cooking.
Oooh! It's delicious. Resembles red chilli flakes in appearance but much, much milder and has a vaguely lemony tang.
You can find it in Middle Eastern shops, or at Penzeys or World Spice Market:
A decent substitute would be sumac (also available at Middle Eastern shops).
PS - as the name would suggest, it's Syrian in origin.
