Tomato based pasta sauce is too sweet. Help!

I ended up seasoning the sauce a bit more with some salt and added lemon juice for acidity. Turned out perfectly balanced!

Short of adding more tomato and cooking a bit longer, I have added grated cheese, parmigiano or romano and that will sometimes temper a sauce that is a bit too sweet, but you have to be careful both cheeses are on the salty side and you don't want your sauce to be too salty.

I agree with Suzanne...adding a little grated cheese to the sauce just before serving tempers the sweetness.

Oh,and sometimes I add some worcestershire sauce.

Just add some wine vinegar and you should be fine...don't panic!
