What do u mean by 1 cup of freshly brewed coffee?

...and to add, the amount needed is 8 ounces, using a measuring cup.

difficult to fully understand the question, as it seems self-explanatory, witthout more context. if recipe calls for 1 cup freshly brewed coffee, then I would make 1 cup of coffee, by whatever means you can. freshly ground beans in a coffee maker or French press would probably give you the richest flavor, as compared to instant. In a pinch, instant should work, but with less richness and flavor. Don't add hot coffee to cold ingredients, unless recipe calls for this. WIll cook the cold ingredients. Coffee is probably intended for flavor in the recipe.
