I love my Instant Pot. The recipes that come with it aren't that great, but there are several websites with interesting recipes on them. I've made stock, ribs, and a whole chicken. Really great.
on amazon...i always look at the other suppliers for the cheaper prices and it is from amazon and new. less than $90. stainless steel pot rather than the no stick. we'll see if it comes back in stock. i'm hoping.
Oh yes..I didn't look there. I love buying things from Amazon Warehouse. I replaced my 6.5 qt slow cooker with one of those deals. The lid was broken. One phone call and I had the new one before I even had a chance to return the broken one. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
i just added and instant pot to my shopping cart. my only experience with a pressure cooker is when my mom used to use hers. i like the programmable and varied uses functions. my question is, since we are a small number of eaters here, can i safely reduce the ingredients and use same cooking time?
I think you can reduce your ingredients, but there are rules. Now I need to remember where I read that. I'll look at the manual. I love stocking my freezer with food, so I always cook extra.
I found it! No minimum for slow cooking. 2 cup minimum for pressure cooking. Lots of people using it to cook for one person. There is a 5 at. I got the 6 at because that was the one that was the deal of the day.
thanks, susan w. i went back and forth between the 5 and 6 qt. and got the 5. it is currently out of stock but will be available soon and the price is unbelievable.
That is what encouraged me to write the hotline post. I checked the Breville reviews on different websites and I didn't find enough to make my decision. I also have the Breville toaster oven and love it. I have never owned a pressure cooker before so I am a little unsure of what I want. I make beans on a regular basis and I know the pressure cooker will come in handy...I just wanted some trusted feedback before I bought it.
So far, I have made both chicken and beef stock in the pressure cooker mode. White and brown rice. I'm turning some of the chicken stock into Asian turkey stock today to make a turkey ramen and the Summer Sweater coconut Thai soup on this website. I'll just make both soups on my stovetop. I keep looking over at my 3 slow cookers wondering if they are a thing of the past.
I looked at the Breville. It doesn't have the sales history or reviews that Instant Pot has, so there's only one review.
I just recently bought an Instant Pot when Amazon had them as the deal of the day. So far, I am blown away. However, I am too new to the appliance to give it a thorough review. I do have the Breville immersion blender and toaster oven and love them both. I had no idea they had a fast slow cooker. I would go to Amazon and read lots of reviews. Be sure to read the one star as well as the five star. I have found reviews to be very helpful. Amanda Besser has an Instant Pot, so hopefully she will chime in.
