If you cut a bread recipe in half, do you also cut the yeast in half or use the whole packet?

Absolutely halve the yeast along with the rest of the ingredients. I do this routinely, since I'm usually baking for one.

Yes. Use only 1 & 1/8 tsp if the original recipe calls for 1 packet.
