I left my white miso out of the fridge overnight. Is it still ok to eat?

I keep hoping that a fermentation expert will step in here. South River Miso, one of the the US's finest commercial miso makers, notes that miso can last for a very long time, even without refrigeration.

I wouldn't, it should be refrigerated once opened.
