I'm making corned beef in the crock pot how much water should I use?

I'm using a crock-pot to make corned beef. How much water should I use? I'm not putting in vegtables--just the corned beef.

I just add 8 oz of beer and drink the rest. A good stout or  Guinness. 😉😀

I use no liquid when using a slow cooker as the meat has a ton of liquid and fat.  Have made it this way for years and it comes out perfect.
