For what it's worth, the problems I had were that the "Load More" button under the "What's On Our Table" heading disappeared and comments wouldn't load- both for two or three days last week. My general feeling on computers is that if they don't want to work I go do something else- I did that in this case and both problems fixed themselves.

I'm glad they resolved themselves Smaug, if anything comes up again, please feel free to email me directly: [email protected] -- I'll see it sooner than I might catch issues on the Hotline.

Hi emcsull, I'm sorry to hear this. Is your activity feed (the bell at the top right) still working? If it's a technical glitch, I'd love to help figure out what's going on.

I've had some pesky glitches on this site in the last couple of days- I assumed that some sort of technical changes to the site were underway. The people you're following may have ducked into alleyways or jumped in cabs, or may have been abducted by aliens, but I'd try again later; probably just computers being computers.

I haven't noticed any pesky glitches here in the past few days, but then again, I haven't been here much during that time.

Maybe the problems are specific to a particular web browser/operating system combination?

I've seen many sites behave differently based on what software I was using.

Perhaps this is one of them? In any case, trying again later might reveal some changes.

The only constant in the universe is change; nowhere is this more evident than the Internet.

Places change, people change.

I can think of 15-20 common reasons why any given individual's attention level might waver (family commitments, health reasons, employment changes, new hobbies, etc.) regardless of any changes to this site (and there have been many over the past couple of years).

A few old timers might be lurking but undoubtedly some have moved on to other Internet destinations. This isn't indentured servitude, people can come and go as they please. This is an at-will community.

I have no knowledge of any reasons that a specific individual might have had for their departure from Food52. You'd have to ask them personally if they didn't allude to it in one of their final posts.

I can think of a half dozen reasons why I don't post as much in recent times, but those reasons are personal and only specific to me.

Anyhow, unless you reach out to those whom you followed for their specific reasons, you'll never know.

Best of luck.
