Freezing sweet loaves ahead for Christmas. What about streusel? If you freeze and defrost it will it turn mushy. Or just leave the streusel off altogether. Thanks.
If your streusel is done right, it will be just fine. I do it all the time in a restaurant type of setting. After it's out of the oven, cool completely, double wrap in plastic wrap, and freeze. When pulling from the freezer, let it thaw completely in the plastic wrap.
