Best Curry Powder! Forget all those salt bombs and order Penzey's.

my experience with curry powders is that they are usually major salt demons. i ve found my fav curry powder [and it is no salt] at Penzeys--it is called NOW curry powder. you can order it online.

Penzey's carries several different curry powders. One that I particularly enjoy is their Maharajah. It's expensive as it has saffron in it, but it's excellent. It's also not spicy, but rather full of warm flavors.

does it have salt? if so, where is salt listed in the spice ingredients; 3rd? 1st?

No salt at all in the ingredients list.

Here are the ingredients in order from most to least: turmeric, coriander, cumin, cardamom, fenugreek, ginger, nutmeg, fennel, cinnamon, black and white pepper, cloves, saffron and cayenne pepper.

I have to say, I was surprised at the cayenne pepper. I can detect no heat at all in it.

I’m going to have to try the NOW curry powder...it must be new, no? Is there any heat to it?
