11/2 water - What does this mean?

Hi all -- the recipe calls for 11/2 cup hot water. At least, that's how it's showing up on my page. Does it mean 1 1/2 or 5.5 cups which seems excessive. Thanks!

    I take it to mean one-and one-half cups. 1-1/2 c. They sound wonderful--enjoy!
