Can I use Jasmine Rice instead?
I do not have any basmati and store is out? What do you think about using Jasmine intead?

Although basmati is traditionally used, an authority on all things Persian cooking who I admire and respect (creator of PersianMama blog - and specifically see this post https://persianmama.com/persian-steamed-rice/) has declared, after testing, that jasmine rice is a great substitute in her recipe for the same dish.
Be sure to rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water, gently swishing it with your fingertips. This is essential to remove the starch on the rice, to yield nicely separated grains. ;o)
