Sorry about that everyone. As way of explanation, this is a weird side-effect of our having switched all those generic Twitter Avatars to the user's Twitter photos a few weeks ago.
Twitter is supposed to store and send over the little images, but apparently they very occasionally store a massive photo. We fixed this up this morning but the fix was to a style sheet which can be cached by browsers and can take a bit to be refreshed. We'll force a refresh of everyone's style sheet late tonight or early tomorrow when the site isn't too busy.
