Mmmmmm. One of my very, very best food memories is of stopping in Austria (we were on our way from Switzerland back to Germany, and basically just dipped our toes into Austria) for afternoon coffee and apfel strudel piled sky high with whipped cream. It was heaven. I love your version! And the Schniten sounds so good too. Definitely have to give these a try.

Thank you, fiveandspice! I gain weight just thinking of the wonderful food there. I had not been back in years, but was able to go with my husband last fall. I'd go again today if I could!
